Mama Kandy is the meeting of Guillaume Allardi, actor, musician and poet and Didier Bouchet, guitarist, bassist, ukulele player among other things. From their meeting in 2017, great discussions blossomed; they talk about blues, voodoo witchcraft and punk spirit, their love for old guitars and analog sound. Then they start to play... Mama Kandy then becomes a crossing of the states through the music of slaves, outcasts and those left behind, black, white or red. Ground-level blues with the voices of T. van Zandt, L. Cohen, Hoyt Haxton, Woody Guthrie and original compositions.

In the language of the blues, The Whitening speaks of the life we ​​mistreat, inside our souls as well as outside in everything that is alive. About our desire to change and everything that prevents us from doing so, the changes we expect, and those that overwhelm us and truly transform us.

When things finish burning, they become ash, white and light like snow crystals. At the end of black, there is white. But sometimes you have to border on madness, dare violence, go to the limit of the unreasonable and lose everything to find, where you no longer expected it, this moment of emptiness and clarity at the end of the darkest hours.

Mama Kandy c’est la rencontre de Guillaume Allardi, acteur, musicien et poète et de Didier Bouchet, guitariste, bassiste, ukuléliste entre autres choses. De leur rencontre en 2017, fleurissent de grandes discussions; ils parlent de blues, de sorcellerie vaudoue et d’esprit punk, de leur amour pour les vieilles guitares et le son analogique. Puis ils se mettent à jouer… Mama Kandy devient alors, une traversée des states à travers la musique des esclaves, des parias et des laissés pour compte, noirs, blancs ou rouges. Du blues au ras du sol avec les voix de T. van Zandt, L. Cohen, Hoyt Haxton, Woody Guthrie et des compositions originales.

Dans la langue du blues, The Whitening parle de la vie qu'on malmène, à l'intérieur de nos âmes comme à l'extérieur dans tout ce qui est vivant. De notre volonté de changer et de tout ce qui nous en empêche, des changements que l'on attend, et de ceux qui nous submergent et nous transforment vraiment.

Quand les choses finissent de brûler, elles deviennent cendres, blanches et légères comme des cristaux de neige. Au bout du noir, il y a le blanc. Mais il faut parfois frôler la folie, oser la violence, aller au bout du déraisonnable et tout perdre pour trouver, là où on ne l’attendait plus, ce moment de vide et de clarté au bout des heures les plus sombres.
